GENOVA and its Historic Centre: the Historic Centre of Genoa is the largest in Europe, it is not a can for distracted tourists, but a truly inhabited and lived place.
Its colors, its light, its shadows and its smells, give life to those buildings with completely different styles and architectures.
To make the most of your experience in the "Caruggi" (Vicoli) Genovesi, we thought of the Risciò, which will allow you to admire the beating heart of the city.
Genoa not to be missed
An itinerary dedicated to those who want to discover with a licensed tour guide the truly unmissable monuments and places of Genoa!
It will pass in the Old Port, transformed in 1992 by architect Renzo Piano into a place where history and contemporaneity live. We will then take to the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, with its extraordinary black-white façade, and continue towards the imposing Doge's Palace, formerly the seat of the Government of the Republic of Genoa and today a place where cultural events and exhibitions are organized. In our itinerary you can not miss the so-called Palazzi dei Rolli, which we will admire above all in Piazza Fontane Marose and Via Garibaldi.
The "rolli" are five-hundred-century private dwellings, beautifully decorated and used by the Republic as accommodations for state guests. Since 2006 42 of these residences have been UNESCO World Heritage Sites. At the end of our walk, the ancient Liberty elevator of Castelletto will take us to the Belvedere from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view.
